They must be protected from light and excessive heat because they can change colour, crack or be irreparably damaged. Natural skin oils, temperature and natural moisture help the pearl maintain its lustre, but acid from perspiration can attack and discolour the pearl. Also, for pearls, mother-of-pearl or coral do not use standard jewellery cleaning substances, they can be too harsh.

– Keep jewellery out of reach of small children.

– Jewellery should be taken off before working with various chemicals, so as not to change colour or damage the surface coating. Jewellery shall not be worn during physical contact activities or activities that result in heavy perspiration, to avoid scratching the surface layer or peeling off parts.

– Heavy wetting with water, acetone or other liquids will cause the stones to peel. Also, do not use perfumes or hairspray near jewellery.

– Silver jewellery should be stored individually in velvet bags or jewellery boxes in a dry place away from the kitchen, bathroom or shower to avoid contact with moisture and heat and to prevent oxidation.

– Non rhodium-plated sterling silver jewellery may oxidise (blacken) in contact with moisture or excessive heat. This is a natural property of silver and is not considered a defect.

– Clean your sterling silver jewellery without stones with bicarbonate or special silver cleaning solutions to restore the shine. To care for your jewellery and keep it shiny, we recommend using a soft, special cleaning cloth.

– For gold-plated jewellery, avoid cleaning with a cloth as this will damage the product.

– The lifetime of the gold coating/plating is about 6 months (even less if not properly cared for)

– Bronze jewellery oxidises. The degree of oxidation depends on the pH of each person. That is why in most cases it leaves greenish marks on the finger/feet.

– Bronze in contact with the skin forms an oxide. The oxide/patina that is deposited on bronze jewellery protects it from further oxidation.

Jewellery care and stone protection – We recommend you to protect your jewellery from knocks, to open bracelets, earrings, necklaces, chains, etc. gently. – Jewellery should be removed before going to the gym or engaging in any sport/activity that could subject the jewellery to mechanical shocks that could cause damage to the metal/stones in the […]

["post-3167","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
